of silent construction.

Soft strings drawn out

across the pink and green

of climbing pelargonium,

stretched upon

the ribbed dull snare drum

of a rainwater tank.

Wind begins,

and plays its prelude

in several nervous movements.

Conductor now on cue

in sharp dark tails

makes hesitant

but perfect entrance.

Leads the full orchestra

through slow performance

then animated climax

to a captivated audience

of one.
