Kindle hopes to ignite love of reading

The first thing you notice when you unbox the Kindle is that the screen appears “on”. It takes a moment to realise that the electronic book reader isn’t powered on at all. What’s on the screen are instructions for plugging it into your computer to charge it up. For many Australians, the Kindle will be their introduction to e-readers and something called E Ink.
